This book is a really good book for 9-10. This book is amazing and so nice written and so many people love. This story is about flying mostly and you will learn about it more and more. Be shore to read the other two books of Daniel and his friends. This is a story that you will read over and over. You can't get your head out of the book. I hope you will give this book a shot.

I don't know too much about this book. This author visited the middle school in the district where I work. I was able to get a copy of his book. My 5th graders LOVE it. My copy was passed around many many times. All of them then ended up going on to read Super, the follow up!
Will be perfect to combine with comics about superheroes
Powerless is the first book and Super is the second book of this delightful duology by Matthew Cody.

The town of Nobles Green was visited by a mysterious glowing green meteorite many years ago. Since then, the children of that little town often get super-powers, only to lose them when they turn 13. Our protagonist, Daniel, is not a native to the little village, so has not super-powers, but quickly gets enmeshed into the fun, duties, trials and tribulations of being a Super- even when you're not old enough to stay up to watch the 10 o'clock news.

Daniel does have a nose for mystery and some common sense, and these two abilities leads him to try and find out why his friends all lose their powers- and memories- when they hit thirteen. But Daniel is not prepared for the danger and deeper mysteries behind the truth.

Fun & a nice fast read, suitable for any reader over nine, and fun for us older sorts, too.
I am writing this review for my 11 year old nephew who loved this book. He loved the book because it made him feel like he was and could be one of the characters. Mr. Cody writes in a very vivid and engaging style. My nephew told me numerous times that he feels strongly that the book should be made into a movie! Obviously, he LOOOOVEEED this book!
Great gift for great nephew
I found this book while searching for chapter books to read to my 8yr old at night.
It is a very interesting story concept. Not one you see very often in children's books. Every chapter is just the right length for a nightly read because you don't want to stop reading before the chapter is over.

This book does a great job of telling the story of children dealing with the ins and out of being a superhero and the responsibility that comes with it.

I recommend it for children and adults alike.
